Net Studio renews service traceability solution Italy

  • The renewal of the Arianne solution implementation project, which will extend over the next five years, also includes software maintenance and migration of the solution to the Cloud

  • Arianne is an Internet of Things (IoT) solution based on radio frequency identification (RFID) technology that allows materials to be tracked, optimising their production and distribution

Rome, 30 April 2023. -  Net Studio (Indra Group) renews for 5 years the contract for the implementation of the Arianne traceability solution for Servizi Italia, a leading washing and rental services company for healthcare and hotel facilities.

Arianne is the Internet of Things (IoT) traceability solution of Net Studio - the Italian company of the Indra Group specialising in Access Management, Digital Identity and Security and Asset Tracking solutions - based on Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology that allows materials to be tracked, optimising their production and distribution.

Net Studio's newly revamped system will allow Servizi Italia to monitor in real time the quantity of materials destined for its customers, tracking their movements during all phases of the washing and sterilisation processes and thus improving the speed, security and accuracy of the distribution chain. In this way, it is possible to optimise the supply chain and drastically reduce the number of problems and costs related to the loss and dispersion of items.

Currently, Servizi Italia manages with Arianne millions of items of flat and packed linen, instruments and surgical drapes in Italy and abroad. The current project renewal phase also includes software maintenance and migration of the solution to the Cloud.

IoT Technology for Industry 4.0

Arianne is a technology designed for Industry 4.0 and based on RFID technology, which uses small chips similar to anti-tagging, called TAGs, sewn into objects. These TAGs, created in such a way as to withstand all the washing cycles to which Servizi Italia's materials are subjected, are tracked throughout their entire journey, from entry into the laundry, to transit to the cloakrooms and on to their return to the end customer. Through the different reading points, Arianne is able to recognise, by means of the TAGs, at what point in the 'production' chain the product is and to manage the customer's credit, increasing it on receipt of dirty materials and decreasing it with the delivery of clean ones.

Thanks to dashboards and user-friendly interfaces, it is possible to check the actual status of all materials and their position within the production and logistics cycle of Servizi Italia.

The main advantages of adopting the Arianne solution are:

  • Optimisation of stock rotation times, avoiding shortages or overstocking in warehouses and cloakrooms and, in general, reduction of the overall number of items required (stock reduction)
  • Automation of the distribution of clean articles and collection of soiled articles at the customer's premises
  • Optimisation of laundry processes (e.g. no need to separate articles according to customer in the laundry process, automated reordering according to soiled linen received)
  • Control of 'missing' items (based on the last position read)
  • Strong support for supply chain management
  • Clear KPI monitoring
